What is conversion rate optimization (CRO)?

 In General

Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is a strategy for boosting the percentage of visitors to your website who make a purchase, often known as a conversion. It employs persuasion psychology to persuade individuals to take the desired action.

Conversions are quite important. They’re the exciting moments when a random customer walks into your store and purchases one of your items. Conversions are also taking place on a much lesser scale in the lead up to that point.

A conversion on your homepage, for example, maybe a visitor clicking through to a product. A consumer clicking Add to Cart on a product page is an example of a conversion. Conversions can be completely reliant on the aim of a given section of your website.

The following are examples of typical eCommerce website conversions:

Sales made online
A customer places an item in their shopping cart.
Adding an item to a wishlist by a visitor
Sign-up for emails

However, you are not limited to the instances given above. Any key performance indicators (KPIs) or metrics that are specific to your business can be tracked and optimized. Because it affects so many different areas of your website and digital marketing platforms, conversion is a wide topic.

You must regularly evaluate each and every component of your website to maximize conversions to an online business.
